What we keep
- Visitors without an account: nothing on our server about your play. Your round in progress, your best round and your settings stay in your own browser (local storage). Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, page) for security. How long the server keeps them has not been confirmed for this site yet; this draft will state the period once it has.
- Account holders: your email address, a hashed password, an optional display name, the time of your last sign-in, your round credit balance with a line for each time it changed, and the full rounds you play signed in (for each shot: club, aim, power, strike and where the ball came to rest; and the scorecard). Saved rounds are kept until you delete your account.
- If you pay: for round credits, PayPal's order and payment reference, what was bought, the amount and its status; for a Clubhouse Pass, the PayPal subscription id, plan, status and paid-through date. We also keep PayPal's payment notifications with personal details removed. We never see or store card details.
Cookies and local storage
A session cookie (only once you sign in) and a security cookie that protects forms. Local storage holds your settings, your round in progress and your best round. No advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. No third-party scripts, fonts or services: every file the site uses comes from instalign.net.
Who sees what
Your display name and your rounds are shown only to you. No names are shown to other players. We do not sell or share data. PayPal processes payments under its own privacy policy.
We email you only for account confirmation, password resets and Clubhouse Pass changes. PayPal sends its own receipt for every payment. No newsletters.
Deleting
"Delete my account" removes your account, your saved rounds, your display name and any unused round credits at once. If a Clubhouse Pass is running, it is cancelled with PayPal first; if PayPal does not confirm, the account is not deleted and you are told. Payment records needed for bookkeeping are kept with your email address replaced by a one-way hash. An account whose email address is never confirmed may be deleted once it is 7 days old. Accounts with no sign-in for 24 months are deleted, unless a Clubhouse Pass is still being paid for or the account still holds unused round credits (credits do not expire, so such an account is kept until you use them or delete it yourself).
Children
Accounts are for people aged 13 or over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; playing without an account sends us none.
